Friday Reflections - Feeling some discomforting feelings about the holidays?

Happy Thanksgiving, y’all!

I hope that no matter where you find yourself today, you experience moments of joy, connection, and contentment.

As we kick off the end-of-year holiday season, I want to acknowledge that holidays come with nuanced and multi-dimensional experiences for many people.

Your experience may or may not reflect “the most wonderful time of the year” vibes we see on Netflix and Instagram. Perhaps your experience did at one point, but not in this particular season. If that’s true for you, know that you are not alone and that many of us, myself included, feel similarly.

If there is any part of you that feels apprehensive, overwhelmed, lonely, frustrated or any other less than delightful feeling when you think about today or the rest of the year, I want to offer a few different perspectives that may be helpful to consider.

I’ve applied the 7 energy levels/perspectives to the 3 most common holiday-related scenarios I consistently hear mentioned. Click on the scenario that resonates most with your experience and consider which perspective will best serve you today and in the weeks to come.

If you have another holiday-related scenario you would like a different perspective on, just reply to this email with that scenario and I’ll create a post for the most requested topics.

Grace and peace to you,

Jessica

P.S. I won’t be sending a Friday Reflection tomorrow per the holiday so I’ll see you in your inbox again next week!
